Perhaps its memories of childhood with blooming roses in the garden, tended to so lovingly by the elders. Perhaps its the fact that my mum loves rose scents as much as me (if not more!) and the delicate fragrance always makes me feel feminine and elegant. There is something lovely about the Indian Rose or gulab that most Indian ladies love! Not to forget the fact that its been used for its therapeutic properties since ancient times.

Not extraordinary as a soap but the fragrance is just lovely and really potent! The combination of rose and patchouli somehow reinforces the rose and it leaves the most beautiful delicate aroma on the skin and in my bathroom. Kama Ayurveda Rose & Jasmine Face Cleanser (Rs 540 for 100 ml)
This gentle, gel face wash has been my saviour in the harsh winter months. The delicate scent reminds me of rose and khus and feels really refreshing and lovely to use. It doesn’t dry out the skin at all, cleanses gently without leaving any residue on the skin and is just a great for those with dry, dehydrated or irritated skin. Kama Ayurveda Rose & Jasmine Body Cleanser (Rs 975 for 200 ml)
Just like the face cleanser, this is great for soothing dry, irritated skin and I almost don’t feel the need to use moisturizer post shower. It makes the skin really smooth and soft and has to be one of the best body cleansers I’ve tried. Its free from SLES and parabens, lathers well though not too heavily and cleanses well. The scent is quite mild though and not heavily leaning on rose but its still nice and refreshing to use.
Kama Ayurveda Rose & Jasmine Body Moisturizer (Rs 1150 for 200 ml) (buy online)
This is a thick, very creamy lotion that gives instant hydration and softness to the skin. Despite the thick, rich texture, this sinks well into the skin upon light massage and leaves it smooth and fragrant without any greasy after feel. The combination of rose and jasmine is lovely though the scent it dominated by the jasmine note. What I do love though is how smooth and nourished my skin feels after use! If you have dry skin on the body, the body cleanser and moisturizer from Kama Ayurveda is a powerful duo that you should try out!

Forest Essentials Rose and Cardamom Body Mist (Rs 975 for 100 ml) (buy online)
This is an unusual but highly addictive fragrance from luxurious ayurvedic brand Forest Essentials. I was expecting a true rose scent sweetened by the cardamom but this is quite earthy yet refreshing. The cardamom is slightly spicy and the rose adds the softer floral element to the scent. I didn’t like it when I first sniffed it because I was expecting something different but I absolutely LOVE it now! If you’re not too hung up on the classic rose scent and want to try a different take on rose, do try this out! Since this is a body mist and not a perfume, you need to reapply after a couple of hours and thats the only drawback. Apart from that, I really like it!
Forest Essentials Sugared Rose Petal Lip Balm (Rs 595 for 5 g) (buy online)
This might not be the most hydrating of lip balms but the scent is worth the splurge. I’ve had this for a while now and almost every time I put this on in the evening after removing my makeup, my husband asks me what smells so nice, all the way across the room. The scent is exactly what you would imagine when you think of gulab and its delicate yet quite potent. I quite like the thinner texture too – it doesn’t sit in a waxy layer on the lips and is light enough to be used under lipsticks.
Forest Essentials has one of the best and most extensive range of Rose products in India (and they ship overseas as well). I love the functionality on their website that allows one to sort by fragrance, so convenient! Do have a look at their Rose range on the website HERE.
