Hey everyone!
The Rose Saga continues and today I have some more great natural rose products to share with you. If you missed out on Part 1 of this, do check it out HERE before you go ahead. Since so many of mentioned how much you like rose scents too after my first post, I’m sure you would love the recommendations in this post as well!
In this post, I will sharing reviews of the following products : Oilcraft Naturals Kannauj Rose Bath Salts, Oilcraft Naturals Rose Essential Oil, Oilcraft Naturals Kannauj Rose Shower Gel and Softening Lotion, Oilcraft Naturals Kannauj Rose and Honey Soap, Imli Street Rose Patchouli After Bath Oil and Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses Rosewater Mask.
Oilcraft Naturals Kannauj Rose Bath Salts (Rs 400 for 125 g)
These bath salts smell absolutely divine and you can use these either as a bath soak or to exfoliate the body. You just need a small amount to add a beautiful aroma to the bath water and they also contain dried rose petals that float on the water, truly giving you the royal experience! They are great to scrub the body with as well – just add a little water to make sure they adhere to the skin and not fall off over the floor. The granules are quite fine, fairly soft and don’t feel abrasive or harsh on the skin. They leave the skin feeling fresh, clean and delicately fragranced with the aroma of rose.
Oilcraft Naturals Rose Essential Oil (Rs 800 for 15 ml)
A rose essential oil is a must-have for any rose lover! You can use this in so many different ways – in a diffuser, a few drops in your bathwater, to fragrance your body oil or body lotion, a few drops on your clothes or bedding (the scent lasts for days!). The scent of this one is very pure and reminds of the desi gulab. Sometimes I also add a few drops of it in water and pour the mix in an empty spray bottle. You can then use the spray as body mist or room freshener!
Oilcraft Naturals Kannauj Rose Shower Gel (Rs 500 for 200 ml) (buy online)
As with all the Oilcraft Naturals rose products I’ve tried, this one too has the pure, unadulterated scent of rose and smells lovely in the bathroom. The scent is a bit mild though and doesn’t linger. The gel is quite thick and needs a little coaxing to come out of the bottle. But it lathers gently and cleans the skin well without causing dryness. I love the color of the gel, you feel like using this just by looking at it!
Oilcraft Naturals Kannauj Rose Softening Lotion (Rs 500 for 200 ml) (buy online)
This is one of my favorite products from all those that I tried because not only did it smell beautifully of rose but softened and moisturized really well. The pale pink color just evokes the scent of rose and this smells absolutely amazing. The scent actually lingers on the skin for a few hours and I love catching a whiff of the gulab scent few hours after application. The lotion is slightly runny but spreads and absorbs well in the skin. I have slightly dry skin on the body and I find it quite softening and hydrating (it contains aloe vera, glycerin and shea butter). It also has SPF 25 which is an added bonus! This is a must-have ladies!
Oilcraft Naturals Kannauj Rose and Honey Soap (Rs 150 for 125 g) (buy online)
If shower gels are not your thing and you prefer soaps, this hand crafted Kannauj Rose bathing bar is perfect! I love the translucent pink color and bits of dried rose petals in the bar. It has a beautiful gulab smell along with geranium which reinforces the delicate floral scent. It lathers gently and cleans well. It doesn’t leave any residue on the skin, doesn’t dry out the skin and leaves it feeling smooth and mildly fragrant. To prevent the soap from dissolving or developing any watery layer, I sliced the bar into several 1/2 inch slices and use it one slice at a time. The soap is soft enough to cut with a blunt knife and this way you can get the most out of it.
Oilcraft Naturals has one of the best lineups of natural rose products in India. If you’re looking for the classic Indian rose scent, this is the brand to try because all of their products have the pure scent of Indian rose. I have to mention their Rose Water mist too (reviewed earlier HERE) which is made from steam distillation of Kannauj Roses (and not rose oil mixed with water or artificial fragrance added to water) and can be used as a toner (its alcohol-free), face freshener or mixed with face packs. Another wonderful product is the Rose Gel Scrub which is a very gentle, mild, gel based scrub – great for dry or sensitive skin.
Oilcraft Naturals products contain natural ingredients and are not tested on animals. They are much more affordable than luxury brands like Kama Ayurveda and Forest Essentials (I do love these brands but they can be expensive!) though they have very similar products, produced in a similar way. In fact, Oilcraft Naturals serves as a production arm for many wellness brands in India including Forest Essentials.
Do check out their Website and Facebook Page. You can buy their products online from Jabong.com, Flipkart.com and Amazon.in.
Imli Street Rose Patchouli After Bath Oil (Rs 775 for 100 ml) (buy online)
This was an impulse purchase during the Nykaa Valentines Day sale but I’m so so happy I got this. After Bath Oils and body lotions are a great way to get lingering scents on the skin as scents from shower gels and soaps rarely stay. I’m trying Imli Street for the first time and I’m really pleased with this After Bath oil – its very light, absorbs really well on damp/moist skin and smells heavenly! I love the combination of rose and patchouli and this scent stays on the skin few hours post application. It also makes the skin very soft, supple and smooth. Its not exactly cheap for the quantity you get so I might check out the Jaypore Rose Patchouli Oil next time.
Currently available at 30% off at Flipkart.com HERE. Highly recommend this if you have normal to dry skin and like Rose scents!
Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses Rosewater Mask ($11.96 for 50 ml)
I bought this online from iherb.com so its not technically an Indian rose product but I wanted to mention it nonetheless! It has a very mild and delicate scent which is good because I don’t like heavily scented products on my face. The pale pink gel based mask feels very calming and hydrating on the skin. On days when I have really dry skin, my actually absorbs all of it like it was a cream! It soothes dryness and I really like the ingredient list too which contains a lot of good, skin friendly ingredients. The brand is vegan, cruelty free and you can check out their products at iherb.com.
